Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. If you do not see your question(s) below, or you have not found it elsewhere on our website, please email us your question.
What is a “brokerage for dreams”? What do you mean when you say you will “broker” my dreams?

A brokerage for dreams is a term coined by Dr. Jungmiwha S. Bullock, owner and founder of J. S. Bullock & Associates, LLC | The Brokerage for Dreams™ when she was trying to put a name to something to which she has accomplished for nearly twenty years for herself and others; that is, dream brokering. It describes her current dream company that has now become reality, an entity brings together individuals, organizations, institutions, companies, and government by inspiring them to invest in meeting, achieving, and exceeding the most major underdeveloped dream(s) that we would each like to accomplish in our lifetime. CLICK HERE to learn more.

What is a “non-traditional” or a “returning” student?

A non-traditional or a returning student is someone who does not go straight from high school to college. This often includes military veterans, retirees, single parents, among others, that may for whatever reason(s) have delayed entering college.

I’m retired. Is it too late for me to start applying, or to go back to college?

It is never too late to start or return back to college. We have seminars and programs specifically catered to Retirees. We also have Associates and Partners that either represent or work with retired populations to help motivate, inspire, and bridge you with your unmet goals and dreams.

What if I have a physical, visual, or hearing impairment — will there be someone available so that I am able to participate?

Yes, we welcome everyone to our workshops and seminars. We will make the appropriate arrangements to make sure you can fully participate at no additional charge. Please let us know so that we can be sure our facilities and personnel are equipped in meeting your needs on the date(s) you would like to attend.

Are you only located in the DC metro area? I tried to look for workshops and seminars in my city, but couldn’t find any. How can I participate?

We are a consulting brokerage headquartered in Washington DC, however, we visit cities to work with clients around the world. Many of these workshops are not publicized if it is being hosted by a specific organization, business, or institution. If you would like to know how we can make it to your city, please Contact Us to discuss further.

If I attend one of your workshops or seminars, am I guaranteed to get into a college or university, or to get the job I’ve applied to?

No, there is no guarantee that attending one of our workshops or seminars will guarantee your acceptance into a college or university, or acceptance for the job for which you’ve applied. This ultimately depends on a number of factors that are different for everyone. For example, all colleges and university requirements vary, from deadlines to scores. We do, however, share many strategies in our workshops to help you craft a solid application package, as well as, offer additional services, such as editing, to help improve your chances. After you attend, we also try to help motivate you to submit your application so that you can hopefully increase your chances.

If there is no guarantee my application will be accepted, then why should I attend one of your workshops? What makes them so unique?

Whether you decide to go to college or not after attending, we teach in such a way that you will be able to apply the same skills from the workshops to crafting a better application for a job, a project, a grant, etc. What sets our workshops apart is that they are interactive, entertaining, and we also integrate rest time, breaks and snacks! All of the Associates and Partners that assist at workshops hold at least one advanced degree from an accredited university, have served on admissions committees, and/or have extensive experience editing and reviewing job and college application materials from the undergraduate to the PhD level. We follow-up with you to continue to motivate you until you turn in your applications.

What type of follow-up services do you provide if I still need help after the workshop to prepare my materials?

You are not a number to us — we care about your success before, during, and after you leave. We provide additional follow-up services for a fee, such as editing and reviewing prior to turning in your applications. Our reputation depends on your success in connecting you with your unmet academic, professional, and/or philanthropic goals and dreams.

English is not my first language. Is the instruction only in English? If so, will I still be able to understand?

We instruct all around the world, and therefore, cater our instruction to diverse audiences. We teach skills to enable our clients to apply to U.S. colleges and institutions, as well as, to apply the same skills to their job applications. Therefore, all of our instruction is in English. We have a limited number of one-on-one private sessions to assist clients that need additional help. Please Contact Us to learn if this could be an option for you.

What kind of locations and settings are your workshops held?

Our general workshops for the public are held in secured, professional facilities throughout the world. When we work with private clients, they range in agreed upon locations. All of our workshops provide complimentary snacks and drinks to our clients.

The most important question, I can’t find your fees anywhere. It sounds wonderful, but how much is it going to cost me?

We do not post our fees for one important reason — just as much as dreams are different, we do not create one particular program or service and apply it to everyone. Because we provide a number of one-of-a-kind services that we create to work with diverse clientele from individuals to institutions, from all walks of life, we do not apply one set fee. This would do a disservice to what we try to offer. With that said, however, we do have general revolving programs that typically range in fees depending on the workshop topic and population group. You can see the costs when you visit our Calendar of Events and sign up for workshops in your area from Our Registration Portal. Also, if applicable, once you become a client, you will receive information on our follow-up editing services within the workshop.
